What's up with the Demon Samurai in "Dragon: A Bruce Lee Story"?

They make Lee seem like he zones out while filming "Enter the Dragon" to fight an invisible monster. Did he really zone out while shooting? It's just weird that they would portray him as a crazy dude. I'm sure he didn't really believe he was haunted by a demon, so why would the writers think it was important to add that?
