Has anyone gotten pregnant and had a period?

I know that some women have period-like bleeding during the first few months of their pregnancy; I'm looking for anyone who has had that experience. I came off the pill about 6 months ago and am causally ttc, using withdrawal more or less. Everything was normal until about three weeks ago when I started having some strange symptoms including AF-like cramping, backaches, weight gain, bloating, spider veins on legs, prominent veins on bbs and abdomen, occasional headaches and nosebleeds, crazy moodiness and hot flashes. I took a htp the day my period was due (negative) and then got my period two days later. It's as heavy as it usually is but it seems shorter and all bright red. Now that my period is over, all the symptoms are still there. To anyone who has had a period while pregnant, did you have these symptoms? When did you test positive? I'm sure its just wishful thinking but what do you think in my case? Thanks.
